    • Yellow™  promotes them across our network (eg our websites)
    • You pay each time a voucher is requested

Why would I want to buy it?

  • Get more out of your advertising spend by encouraging immediate interaction.
  • Its lets customers connect with your business immediately, no matter what time of day or night.
  • Test which of your advertising is most effective.
  • Take cost out of your business by delivering information automatically (rather than answering the phone).
  • Mobile phone message is always with the customer as a reminder.

What do you get with Yellow Connect™?

  • The ability to set up as many campaigns (different keywords/shortcodes) as you wish.
  • Choose your own keywords that represent your business (subject to availability – first come, first served)
  • As many keyword/shortcode combinations as you need to run these campaigns (but a maximum of 8 at any one time that aren’t allocated to a pending or active campaign)
  • Reporting of the number of leads serviced for each campaign and a list of the mobile numbers and emails.
  • Fulfilment support to help set up your campaigns (full service).

What are keywords and shortcodes?

  • The keyword is the word that you (the advertiser) chooses that is unique to your campaign.
  • The shortcodes are owned by Yellow™, and we currently have 4 different shortcodes for different types of campaigns –
    • 342 for vouchers
    • 361 for info
    • 362 for business cards
    • 826 for opt in campaigns
  • In the example ‘Txt plumber to 342 to get 10% off if you book before December 31st, plumber is the keyword and 342 is the shortcode.
  • You do not pay for keywords.
  • The combination of ‘plumber’ /‘342’ will be reserved for this advertiser, but a different advertiser may have a business card campaign set up against plumber/362.
  • Keywords not allocated to a campaign will be returned to the keyword pool (and will be available to other advertisers) after a 3 month period with no use.

How will the campaigns be promoted?

  • In general, it is up to you, the advertiser, to promote your own campaigns.
  • If you are promoting a Yellow™ voucher in a display ad in a Yellow pages® or Yellow Local® book, you can also opt to have it promoted in the voucher section at the front of the book at no extra charge (paying only for the leads serviced).
  • You can also choose whether they wish us to promote each voucher campaign across the Yellow™ Vouchers Network.  It is up to Yellow™ where this promotion is conducted but would include our Yellowvouchers.co.nz website.  Advertisers will pay a flat rate for leads from this network.

Can I promote it in my Yellow pages® or Local Directory advertising?

  • Yes definitely, but you must purchase the display space / extra lines to promote it.
  • You can use either the same keyword/shortcode in all your ads or different ones in each to see how they perform.

Can I promote it in my White pages® listing?

  • Yes definitely, but you must purchase the extra lines or logo space to promote it.
  • It makes sense to include a voucher to increase your average sale, or include an info campaign to make it easy for your customers to get your details on their mobile.

What reporting do I get?

  • You will be able to choose daily, weekly or monthly reporting for each campaign.
  • These reports will be sent by email.  They will include the number of leads serviced for each campaign on a daily basis, and provide access to the list of mobile numbers and any other relevant details.

Will you be able to get the list of mobile numbers that text in?

  • Yes, you will receive the numbers with the report but should only use them if the user has given permission to be contacted (eg if it’s an opt in or call back campaign).

Does the person using the service have to pay anything?

  • Customers of the Service will pay 20c per text they send which will appear on their normal mobile phone bill (this charge goes to the telecommunications company).  The charge is the same whether with Telecom, Vodafone or 2 Degrees.

How do I sign up?

  • Contact your Yellow™ rep, or call 0800 803 803 or txt MORE to 361 to make sure you can reserve any keywords you want, and organise the purchase of the Service.  They’ll also help you complete the forms to set up your first campaign/s.
  • The Yellow Connect™ Fulfilment team will then load your information in the system, and handle any enquiries you have from there.

How do Yellow™ Vouchers work?

  • The customer sees an offer promoted and texts the keyword to the shortcode.  You can either state ‘txt for our current offer’ (to give them flexibility to change the offer over time) or state a specific offer (likely to have a higher uptake because the user knows what they will get).
  • You should state any conditions in your promotion and make sure you state that txts cost 20c to the user.
  • The customer receives a reply text which should include the details of the offer, expiry dates, business name etc. (you will be charged for the lead at this point).
  • The customer will visit you and show the voucher to claim the offer.

Does the customer pay anything?

  • The customer will be charged 20c by their telecommunications provider which is standard in the market (does not come to Yellow™).

What is yellowvouchers.co.nz?

  • This is a website we launched to promote vouchers to customers.  You can opt to have your vouchers promoted across the Yellow™ network, and you will pay a flat rate per lead normally, but this is free until 31 May 2010.

How does Yellow™ Info work?

  • The customer sees an offer promoted and texts the keyword to the shortcode.
(The advertiser must state the txt will cost 20c)
  • If the information is short, it can be included in the reply text.
  • If the information needs to be emailed, the first time the customer uses the Yellow™ Info Service they will receive a reply text asking for their email address (you will be charged for the lead at this point)
  • If a customer texts in who has used Yellow™ Info before they will receive a response saying the info has been emailed to <email address>, and can reply with a new email address if it is wrong.
  • The customer replies with their email address and an email with the information in the body of the email or attached as a pdf is sent out immediately.

Why would a customer do this rather than visiting a website

  • Different customers respond in different ways and a text option gives them an immediate way to respond rather than having to log in to a computer.
  • Many people will intend to check a website then forget to do it, whereas using Yellow™ Info the details are waiting in their inbox next time they log in.  They also don’t have to search around on a website to find the right details that they need if it is about a specific product or service.
